Topo-Embroideries show opens
I’m excited to announce that a new show of my work called “Topo-Embroideries” is now open at the Golden History Museum. This show features a new body of work focusing on an exploration of place, history, memory, and family through the use of topographic map imagery of the Golden area combined with heirloom textiles and stitching.
Golden is my hometown and the topography and landscape of the area evoke many memories for me. In these pieces, I use an antique damask tablecloth inherited from my great-grandmother as the backdrop, tieing in family history and memory.
I hope you’ll join me for an artist’s reception on Saturday, November 4th from 10:30am-12pm at the museum. I’ll also be giving an artist’s talk and demonstration on March 9th, 2024, from 1pm-2:30pm. More on that later!
As a bonus, in the same gallery is an exhibit about the 150th anniversary of Golden High School, my alma mater. Lots of great Golden history!
